Combination Treatment

Our goal is to help you achieve the best results possible. We understand that several treatment options are available for androgenetic alopecia, including:

• Topical and oral medications
• Injectables
• Low-level laser therapy (LLLT)
• Hair transplant surgery

While each is effective on its own, a combination of treatments often provides the most successful approach to treat hair loss.

By combining treatments with different mechanisms of action, we can create a synergistic effect that enhances the overall effectiveness of the treatment plan. Generally, the more comprehensive the treatment plan, the better the results.

It’s important to note that medical treatments are crucial for preventing further hair loss and potentially restoring thin, miniaturized hairs to their previous thickness. However, these treatments can only work where hair is still present; they cannot regrow hair in areas where it has disappeared completely. In such cases, a hair transplant is the only solution to restore a receding frontal hairline or provide significant density to the mid-scalp or crown.

Hair restoration is a process, so it’s essential to prioritize your goals. During your consultation, we will assess your hair and discuss your desired outcomes to create a customized treatment plan tailored to your needs. We design our treatment plans in year-long increments, as it takes time to see results.

A non-surgical treatment package may include: 

• Oral medication: finasteride/dutasteride, oral minoxidil
• Injectable: PRP, intradermal dutasteride/minoxidil
• Low-level laser therapy (LLLT): Theradome EVO LH40

Examples of non-surgical treatment plans: 

• Oral finasteride/dutasteride daily + PRP injections at months 1, 2, 3, then every 3-6 months + low-level laser therapy (LLLT) 3x per week
• Oral minoxidil daily + intradermal dutasteride/minoxidil injections at months 1, 2, 3, then every 3-6 months + low-level laser therapy (LLLT) 3x per week

A surgical treatment package may consist of a hair transplant with or without the above medical treatments. We strongly encourage surgical patients to include medical treatments in their plan to ensure the success of their hair transplant.
